We Vigdis and Jonny Ingjer live in Strømmen – just outside Oslo, Norway. We have four Schapendoezen at home, Emily Aqki v.d Korte Toren, Carezzando’s Fanta Fiesta, Carezzando’s Guinea My Girl and Carezzando´s Hippie Hermine - see “våre hunder” (our dogs). We also stand as owner of Carezzando’s Drama Queen, as well as Carezzando’s Effie Marconi, and Carezzando’s Flash Gordon. And we own Sil Lauke v.d. Korte Toren together with Kåre-Bjørn Weigård. Old English Sheepdogs was our breed for more than thirty years until we found Schapendoes, a breed that have really won our hearts, a charming, lively and happy dog, always ready for activity of all kinds. It is suited for agility, obedience, free-style, rally-obedience - all kind of dog-sport really with positive training methods, but not schütz or working with biting. This breed is also good family-dogs – they love to take part in all activities of their families. Schapendoes do not have the big coat of an Old English Sheepdog – the coat is rather easy to keep – and the size suits me perfectly – not to big and heavy – but big enough to take part in all our activities. Se the standard at the home-page of the Dutch Schapendoes-club.
We do breed Schapendoes, but just a litter a year or even more seldom. It is important for us to get healthy, good-tempered puppies – if they also are beautiful it is like an extra bonus. As we do not have many schapendoesen in Norway – we have travelled a lot to find males for our females. We have so far had five litters – see photo gallery (galleri) and "valper/puppies". It is also important for us to find good homes for our puppies – families that want a dog included in their every-day-life.
